Free summer meals offered at two schools through June
Northwest ISD will again offer free summer meals to children ages 18 and younger, as well as students with disabilities who are ages 21 and younger, as part of the federal Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture. For children who rely on school meals during the academic year, these meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for summer vacation.
This year, meals will be offered at Clara Love Elementary School and Prairie View Elementary School from Monday through Friday, beginning May 27 and concluding June 30. Breakfast will be offered from 8 to 9 a.m., and lunch will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals must be consumed on campus and can not be taken to go.
