Free summer meals offered in June at two campuses

Northwest ISD will again offer free summer meals to children who are ages 18 or younger as well as students with disabilities who are ages 21 and younger as part of the federal Summer Food Service Program.

The program, provided in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Texas Department of Agriculture, offers breakfast and lunch meals at no cost from June 5 to 30. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m., while lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students and children can receive the meals at Love Elementary School (located at 16301 Elementary Drive in Justin) or Prairie View Elementary School (609 F.M. 3433 in Rhome).

For children who rely on school meals during the academic year, these meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for summer break. Northwest ISD is one of several nonprofit entities that partners with TDA to serve meals across Texas.
