Gary Gerhardt receives top state award

Northwest ISD is proud to announce that Gary Gerhardt, NISD CTE Agricultural Science Coordinator, was recently named the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas (ATAT) Outstanding Chapter Advocate.

The award recognizes ATAT members and supporters who have shown outstanding support to Texas agriculture science and FFA programs. Awards are presented at the Association's Professional Development Conference, which was held July 24-28 in Dallas.

Mr. Gerhardt oversees NISD’s animal sciences, applied agricultural engineering and plant science programs of study. He was nominated for the award by NISD teachers and staff.

“Mr. Gerhardt is always rooting for his teachers and students, supporting them in and out of the classroom, and guiding and advising them on a daily basis,” said Byron Nelson FFA in a recent social media post. “This is a luxury that not all teachers or programs have. His support not only helps the teachers, but also the students in the classroom, FFA and SAEs.”
