Granger Elementary named 2026 National Gold Star School for exemplary school culture

The National Association of Elementary School Principals has recognized Granger Elementary as a 2026 National Gold Star School, honoring the campus as one of the nation's exemplary learning communities.

Granger Elementary is one of just 57 schools across 29 states to receive the distinction. The National Gold Star Schools program recognizes campuses that create inclusive, thriving learning environments through strong school culture, empowered educators and students, and effective systems that support success.

“This recognition reflects the incredible commitment of our students, staff, families and community to creating a school where every child feels valued, supported and inspired to succeed,” said Principal Michelle McAdams. “At Granger, the Wrangler Way is more than a motto — it guides how we learn, lead and care for one another every day. We are honored to be recognized for the culture we've built together.”

National Gold Star Schools are selected by a committee of principals from across the country. These campuses represent the highest standards of school leadership, academic excellence and inclusive learning environments.

Granger Elementary earned the distinction for its intentional, character-driven culture that empowers students, staff, families and the community to share responsibility for learning and student success. Guided by the Wrangler Way, the campus cultivates strong partnerships, shared leadership, embedded social-emotional learning and systems that support high-quality instruction, student well-being and a welcoming environment where every student can thrive.

Granger Elementary previously has been named a National School of Character in 2013, 2018 and 2023, received the 2025 Promising Practices Award, and earned the TEPSA Student Council Leadership Award for its students' commitment to community service and civic engagement.
