Granger Elementary School is the proud recipient of a “moon tree” seedling from the Artemis I mission that flew around the moon in 2022! These seedlings, part of a NASA program to promote STEM education, will be planted in local communities and grow a new generation of “moon trees” for the future.

Granger is one of only 50 entities to receive the first set of Artemis I moon seeds for the spring 2024 release. NASA chose institutions based on criteria that evaluated their suitability to care for the various tree species and their ability to maximize educational opportunities around the life and growth of the tree in their communities.
