High school cheer squads preparing for tryouts with required meetings

Cheerleading squads at each of Northwest ISD’s comprehensive high schools – Byron Nelson, Eaton and Northwest – are preparing for tryouts of their 2022-2023 squads, and mandatory meetings will soon take place for each.

Tryouts will take place in March for each squad, though mandatory meetings differ by school. For information on each squad’s tryout process, including the mandatory participant and parent/guardian meeting, view the appropriate school listing below.

Byron Nelson High School
The Byron Nelson High School Cheer mandatory tryout meeting will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, at the school. Attendance by students wishing to try out along with a parent or guardian is mandatory to try out on Thursday, March 10. Mandatory mock tryouts will take place Wednesday, March 9, to help prepare. Eaton High School
The Eaton High School Cheer mandatory tryout meeting will take place 6 p.m. Thursday, January 27, in the school lecture hall. Attendance by students wishing to try out along with a parent or guardian is mandatory to try out on Wednesday, March 9, and Thursday, March 10. A mandatory tryout clinic will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 8, to help prepare. Northwest High School
The Northwest High School Cheer mandatory tryout meeting will take place 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, in the school lecture hall. Attendance by students wishing to try out along with a parent or guardian is mandatory to try out on Wednesday, March 9, and Thursday, March 10. A mandatory tryout clinic will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 8, to help prepare.
