Limited open enrollment application period extended through summer
Based on feedback from interested families regarding the time to obtain necessary documents, Northwest ISD will extend its limited open enrollment application period through the summer. The application period will now close on Wednesday, August 12.
Families who live outside of Northwest ISD can continue to apply at www.nisdtx.org/openenroll for their children to attend one of a select number of district schools with available capacity during the 2026-2027 school year. With the extension, families will now be informed whether their students have been accepted into Northwest ISD within 30 days of their application.
All other aspects of the program, including its academic, attendance and behavioral requirements, remain unchanged. Campuses will still maintain an out-of-district enrollment cap, and student applications will continue to be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Northwest ISD will evaluate whether to make this extended application period a permanent change in future years.
