Minimum 2% raise approved for all staff, 5% for paraprofessionals

Thanks to voter approval of the district’s recent operations funding election, Northwest ISD will provide a minimum 2% raise for all staff in the upcoming school year. In alignment with feedback from staff in listening sessions this semester, updated compensation also includes a larger raise of 5% for paraprofessionals as well as stipend increases for SPED teachers.
At their April 13 school board meeting, trustees approved the 2026-2027 compensation plan that ensures Northwest ISD will continue its decade-plus trend of providing annual teacher raises. With the new plan, Northwest ISD’s starting teacher salary will be set at $64,750 – composed of a $62,500 base salary and the district’s $2,250 local teacher allotment.
While all staff will receive a minimum raise of 2%, Northwest ISD has analyzed compensation plans across area school districts and will provide additional salary adjustment increases for some positions. These adjustments include counselors, librarians and some other positions not impacted by the state and local teacher allotments.
Northwest ISD will send the district’s annual staff salary letters before the end of the current school year for employees to see their specific 2026-2027 compensation. This letter reflects each employee’s unique circumstances, such as years of service and applicable stipends.
In addition to salary raises, Northwest ISD is in the process of exploring new healthcare coverage benefits at no cost to staff, which will be presented in an upcoming board meeting.
