Natalie Childress named executive director of student support services

Northwest ISD has named Natalie Childress as its next executive director of student support services, placing a veteran educator and campus leader in a role that will ensure the needs of all children are met.
Mrs. Childress currently serves as principal of Worthington Middle School, a position she has held since 2022 and will continue to serve in until the end of the current school year. She previously served as principal of Wilson Middle School, and she has also served as the associate principal of Northwest High School.
As the executive director of student support services, Mrs. Childress will oversee 504 programs (disability support), federal programs, guidance and counseling services, health services, multi-tiered system of supports (academics, behavior, mental health and wellness), pregnancy-related services, state compensatory education (at-risk student support), and more.
“I look forward to supporting students of all abilities and needs throughout Northwest ISD and ensuring each child has the resources necessary for success,” she said. “I have felt honored to lead Worthington Middle School since its opening, and I will cherish my time with our students, staff and community.”
In her roles in campus administration, Mrs. Childress has led various programs that support individualized student needs for long-term academic improvement. Her work facilitating various student support committees has led to responsive measures contributing to student stability and success.
Prior to entering educational administration, Mrs. Childress spent more than a decade as a teacher in instructional support and mathematics. She has taught in Texas, Arkansas and California.
Mrs. Childress earned her master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Harding University.
