District breaks ground on Perrin Elementary

On Thursday, Northwest ISD held a groundbreaking ceremony for Alan and Andra Perrin Elementary School, the district’s 23rd elementary school. Located in the Wildflower Ranch community, construction is now officially underway with the campus scheduled to open in August 2024.

Members of the Perrin family, district leadership, future Perrin Elementary students and construction partners were on hand to celebrate the occasion. For a complete album of photos from the ceremony, visit the NISD Flickr page.

The school will feature the district’s current elementary design focused on collaborative spaces, community atmosphere and easy navigation.

Alan Perrin served as a teacher and coach at Northwest High School, helping mold hundreds of students both in the classroom and on the field. Andra Perrin first served students as a teacher before becoming a principal – first at Roanoke Elementary School, then Justin Elementary School – and later led the district’s instructional technology programs.

Notably, the location of Perrin Elementary School pays tribute to the couple. The school is located inside the Northwest High School attendance zone, and the area was previously zoned for Justin Elementary School, two of the campuses where the Perrins made large impacts.

Additional information about the school will become available closer to its opening. Attendance boundaries and a principal are typically announced the spring before a school opens. Families can follow construction progress at www.nisdtxconstruction.org.
