NISD high schools awarded 14 Buckley Theatre Award nominations

Northwest ISD’s three comprehensive high schools – Byron Nelson, Eaton and Northwest – combined for 14 nominations in the prestigious Betty Lynn Buckley Awards, one of the top theatre competitions in the state.

Eaton High School earned a total of eight nominations for their performances of “The Importance of being Earnest" and "The Addams Family School Edition." For "The Importance of being Earnest," the school earned a nomination for Excellence in a Lead Performance (Colton Waller as John Worthing), two nominations for Excellence in a Supporting Performance (Kallie Morris as Miss Prism and Gage Alexander as Lady Bracknell), one nomination for Excellence in Sound Design (Matorma Diama), Excellence in Scenic Design (Gabby Anderson and Hudson Floyd) and Excellence in Costume Design (Ray Tanner). The school received two nominations for "The Addams Family School Edition," including Excellence in Choreography (Hayden Beaty) and Excellence in Student Orchestra.

Byron Nelson earned four nominations for its performance of “Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella,” earning consideration in both group and individual categories. The Bobcats earned nominations in Excellence in Lighting Design (Peyton Watkins and Ashlynn Savage), Excellence in Scenic Design (Ella Nagengast), Excellence in Stage Management (Ella Glueck and Ella Nagengast) and Excellence in a Student Ensemble.

Northwest earned nominations for two performances, Excellence in Costume Design (May Day and Dani Kimberlin for "The Wizard of Oz") and Excellence in a Supporting Performance (Reid Scearce as Perry in "The Old Man and the Old Moon").
