NISD offering after-hours webinars that help students and families prepare for the future

One of Northwest ISD’s stated priorities is that students will graduate life ready and prepared for success in career, college, or military service. To help achieve this, NISD has a full staff dedicated to helping students navigate their futures, led by Director of College, Career & Military Readiness Bobby Morris.

In addition to Mr. Morris, the CCMR team also includes College and Career Facilitators at all three of NISD’s comprehensive high schools. These facilitators work directly with students during the school day with tasks like college-readiness testing, college and job applications, resume writing, dual credit, FAFSA, college recruiter visits and much more. 

In addition to the in-person services during the school day, the CCMR team also offers convenient virtual help. CCMR After Hours is a series of free webinars for students and families that are all scheduled for the evening time, allowing more people to attend.

“The NISD CCMR team is dedicated to helping students successfully navigate their future during the school day,” Mr. Morris said. “But, we also understand that families are busy. CCMR After Hours creates flexible opportunities for students and parents to learn, ask questions and prepare for postsecondary success through evening webinars on a variety of topics.”

Previous webinars have covered helping families save for college, preparation for the SAT and TSIA, student accessibility resources and much more.
