NISD swimmers and divers advance to state meet

A total of 12 student-athletes from across Northwest ISD will represent the district at the upcoming UIL Swimming and Diving State Meet in Austin, Texas. Swimmers and divers from Northwest High School and Eaton High School qualified for the meet based on their performances in regional competition.

Northwest High School (5A)

DIVERS:

  • Freshman Ashley Hickok - Regional Champion
  • Freshman Haylee Poppel - 3rd place
  • Sophomore Zack Meyer - 3rd place

SWIMMERS:

  • Senior Lauren Durbin - Regional Champion (100 Back), 2nd place (50 free), 2nd place (200 IM relay), 2nd place (400 Free relay)
  • Junior Michaela Hickok - Regional Champion (100 Breaststroke), Regional Champion (200 Free), 2nd place (200 IM relay), 2nd place (400 Free relay)
  • Sophomore Riley Crowther - 2nd place (200 IM relay)
  • Freshman Rebecca Richardson - 2nd place (400 Free relay)
  • Freshman Ashley Hickok - 2nd place (200 IM relay), 2nd place (400 Free relay)
  • Junior Kyle Stutz - 2nd place (500 Free)
  • Sophomore Derek Smith - Regional Champion (500 Free)

 

Eaton High School (6A)

DIVERS:

  • Senior Maggie Meyers - 2nd place (1 Meter diving) 

SWIMMERS:

  • Senior Reeve Ferber - Regional Champion (100 Breast), 3rd place (100 Fly, 6A Call-up)
  • Senior Gavin Peterman - 3rd place (100 Free, 6A Call-up)

Both the 5A and 6A UIL Swimming and Diving State Meet will take place February 17 and 18 at the University of Texas’s Lee and Joe Jamail Swim Center. For more information, please visit the UIL website
