NISD winter theatre productions coming this month

The Northwest ISD community will have lots of opportunities in the coming weeks to enjoy theatre productions as NISD's three comprehensive high schools prepare to showcase their hard work. Read below for information on three upcoming shows, including dates, locations and ticket information.

Northwest High School presents “The Sound of Music”

One of the most beloved musicals of all time, this inspirational story is based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp and follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. Come sing along to a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, The Sound of Music.

Byron Nelson High School presents “Frozen JR.”

Join us for this enchanting modern classic from Disney! A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Eaton High School presents “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide head-on with the story of Christmas! This delightful show is adapted from the bestselling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple across the United States.
