Northwest ISD FFA programs host Third Grade Field Day event

Students were caught horsin' around during day one of Third Grade Field Day at the NISD Kelly W. Box Agricultural Science Center!

The three-day event provides third-grade students from across the district the opportunity to visit the agricultural center and learn about various aspects of agricultural science.

Each Future Farmers of America (FFA) program representing the district’s three comprehensive high schools — Byron Nelson, Northwest and V.R. Eaton — hosts a day and leads their feeder pattern schools around the facilities.

Students move by class through nine different stations, learning about agricultural topics including small animal wildlife, outdoor recreation and safety, equine, horticulture and entomology, sheep and goats, Texas crops, beef cattle and swine.
