Northwest ISD teams advance to Global Finals in Destination Imagination
Three Northwest ISD Destination Imagination teams are headed to the Global Finals in Kansas City in May after excelling in six creative problem-solving challenges at the state-level competition.
The Fire Breathing Rubber Ducks, Wait . . . What?, and Bakin’ Bacon teams comprise student from Byron Nelson High School and Medlin Middle School. More than 500 teams, including 14 from Northwest ISD, showcased their ingenuity and teamwork.
To advance to the Global Finals, teams had to place among the top six in their respective challenge and age divisions. Among the standout competitors was Spaced Out, a team of juniors and seniors from Byron Nelson and Northwest High Schools. While Spaced Out did not qualify for Globals, they earned the highest Instant Challenge score in their division, highlighting their strong collaboration and quick-thinking skills.
