Northwest ISD has partnered with GeneIQ to use Old Texan Fieldhouse as a drive-through COVID PCR testing site for the community at large beginning Wednesday, October 6.

Students, families, staff and community members can all receive COVID testing in the parking lot in front of Old Texan Fieldhouse without exiting their vehicles. All testing is administered by GeneIQ personnel, while Northwest ISD is only providing its location for use as the testing facility. Patients with symptoms will have the option of a regular COVID-19 PCR test or a combination test called COVID+, that tests for COVID-19, Flu A & B, and RSV.

Testing will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. When Northwest ISD Stadium hosts a game, the drive-through testing service will close at 5 p.m. to assist in game-day traffic.

Old Texan Fieldhouse is located at 2156 Texan Drive in Justin, in front of Old Texan Stadium. The yellow gates that close the parking lot will remain open during testing hours. Those receiving a test must enter through the intersection of Texan Drive and S.H. 114, next to Northwest ISD Stadium, and then exit through the controlled light at the intersection of S.H. 114 and Harriet Creek Drive.

To be eligible for a COVID test, the individual being tested must exhibit symptoms or be classified as a close contact. Each COVID PCR test is free, though more extensive testing will be billed to an individual’s insurance. Registration is required; individuals in need of testing can register on location or at www.mycovidappointment.com.
