Six Northwest ISD seniors have been recognized as finalists in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Out of 15,000 students nationwide, Eaton High School seniors Matthew Bufkin, Caleb Grijalva, Giovanni Hanna, and Zach Pospisil, along with Byron Nelson High School seniors Steven Martini and Rix White, have advanced to this elite level. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation will begin announcing scholarship winners in April, with notifications to winners starting in March.
Students qualify for this competition by excelling on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) and meeting additional program criteria. High-scoring students advance by submitting an application, letters of recommendation and other required materials.
