Steele NHS chapter wins national Character Award of Excellence

For its exemplary record of leadership, service and efforts to improve the school and community, the National Honor Society (NHS) awarded Steele Early College High School’s NHS chapter with the Character Award of Excellence.
Steele’s National Honor Society is dedicated to enriching their community through service and leadership. Throughout the year, the chapter hosts many events for their community, ranging from the Homecoming Game to an Alumni Celebration. This year, the chapter introduced a new event; the Fast and Furriest Color Run, a fundraising event benefiting Apollo Support & Rescue, a local animal shelter.
In addition, the chapter provides members with many volunteer opportunities, fostering a spirit of service and encouraging students to make a lasting difference in their community.
“I am so proud of our Steele Early College High School National Honor Society and the incredible impact they make on our campus and in the community,” said Todd Rogers, Steele ECHS Principal. “Our NHS students embody servant leadership, work hard, and consistently set a positive example for others. They truly make a positive difference every single day, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
“This organization is full of people who are so wonderful, and constantly make me strive to be better,” said Kenzie King, Steel NHS Vice President. “The members really are the backbone, they work tirelessly to ensure their community becomes a better place each day; our success is only possible because of their passion and dedication.”
