Student councils at all NISD high schools receive sweepstakes, two schools earn statewide officer positions
The student councils from all four Northwest ISD high schools earned the prestigious Sweepstakes Award at the Texas Association of Student Councils annual conference.
To receive this honor, the student councils at Byron Nelson, Eaton, Northwest and Steele Early College high schools first earned the Outstanding Student Council Award and achieved recognition in four key areas: energy and environment; drugs, alcohol, safety and health (DASH); pride and patriotism and community service.
Students from Eaton and Northwest high schools also successfully campaigned for statewide TASC officer positions. To earn their roles, candidates conducted social media campaigns, hosted informative booths and performed engaging skits to educate students statewide on their platforms.
The winners of the statewide TASC positions are:
- 25-26 TASC Parliamentarian School: V.R. Eaton High School
- Student Representative: Ridley Zeske
- Advisor: Jessica Zeske
- 25-26 TASC President School: Northwest High School
- Student Representative: Leah Skinner
- Advisor: LaKiella Rose
