TEA district, school ratings now available
The Texas Education Agency released district and campus ratings today, with Northwest ISD earning an overall score of 89, or a high “B” rating. Our campuses earned a combined total of 18 academic distinction designations.
In 2017, the 85th Texas Legislature enacted an A-F grading system as a tool to communicate the performance of schools. The ratings are based predominantly on annual standardized test scores from the STAAR at elementary and middle school and End-of-Course exams at high school.
A-F ratings are based on three domains:
- Student Achievement: Includes STAAR test performance on all STAAR tests, college, career, and military readiness, and graduation rates.
- School Progress: Year-over-year performance on STAAR performance, as well as performance relative to similar districts/campuses.
- Closing the Gaps: Student performance disaggregated by student group in four components: Academic Achievement, Federal Graduation Rate, English Language Proficiency, and Student Success.
Campus ratings and distinctions are earned based on 2021-22 school year data.
You can find more information about your campus’ rating at www.txschools.gov. Additional information about the rating system is available on the TEA website.
