Byron Nelson High School students earn AP Capstone Diploma

Thirty-seven students from Byron Nelson High School have earned the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma from the College Board, recognizing their exceptional academic achievement, research and college-level writing skills.

AP Capstone is an innovative diploma program that equips students with independent research, collaborative teamwork and communication skills, all crucial for success in college and beyond. To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must score a three or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, as well as on four additional AP Exams of their choice. Students who score a three or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research but not on four additional exams receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.

"Earning the AP Capstone Diploma is a significant accomplishment," said Dr. Maggie Norris, Byron Nelson High School associate principal. "These students didn't just complete a series of AP courses, they demonstrated mastery of the very skills we emphasize across our district: critical thinking, problem solving, research, effective communication, collaboration and independent learning."

Byron Nelson High School continues to be a leader in college readiness through its advanced placement offerings. The AP Capstone program not only challenges students academically but also helps them stand out in the college admissions process.

Congratulations to all 37 students for this outstanding accomplishment and for representing Byron Nelson High School with excellence and academic distinction.
