Northwest ISD has named Tim Berube as the next principal of Wilson Middle School, elevating a current assistant principal at the campus who has a strong history of supporting North Texas students and teachers.

Mr. Berube has served as an assistant principal at Wilson for the past two years, overseeing support for the school’s eighth-grade class. During his time as an assistant principal across two school districts, he implemented a mentorship program for students, guided professional development programs, and led or assisted several student and teacher support initiatives. He replaces Dr. Laura Koehler, who will retire at the end of the current school year.

“Wilson Middle School is a special community that I’m proud to call home, and I’m thrilled to continue supporting our students, teachers, staff and families through strong partnerships necessary for educational success,” Mr. Berube said. “I look forward to building upon the foundation Dr. Koehler has established for our Wildcats and continuing to provide our teachers with the support they need for students to thrive.”

Prior to joining Northwest ISD, Mr. Berube spent 16 years at neighboring Keller ISD, including two years as an assistant principal, seven years as a counselor, and seven years as a teacher and coach. In addition to his experience in public education, Mr. Berube served in the United States Navy for four years.

Mr. Berube earned his master’s degree in counseling from the University of Lamar and his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of North Texas.
