MaxPreps has named Byron Nelson High School senior Paige Flickinger as its national volleyball Player of the Year, and two of her teammates have joined her in receiving the organization’s All-American honors.

Paige won the award following the Bobcats’ victory over the Plano West Wolves in November to become the UIL 6A Volleyball State Champions. The season wrapped an illustrious high school career for Paige, who played four years on the varsity squad and recently competed in the national Under Armour All-American game for her sport.

Next in her academic and volleyball career, Paige will compete for the LSU Tigers in both indoor and beach volleyball.

In addition to Paige’s award, MaxPreps named two of her Byron Nelson teammates to its All-American list. Juniors Charitie Luper, who has committed to the UCLA Bruins, and Payton Chamberlain (committed to the Wyoming Cowgirls) were honored for their work as a hitter and setter, respectively.

Both Charitie and Payton were standouts for the Bobcats, earning a place on the UIL’s 6A all-tournament team, with Charitie earning MVP honors in the state title game.
