Northwest Independent School District is beginning football season this week, with two of three high schools scheduled to play at the district’s home facility, Northwest ISD Stadium.

Eaton High School will begin the district’s 2016-17 season with its first varsity football game ever at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the Northwest ISD Stadium, located at 1937 Texan Drive in Fort Worth (GPS devices may require Justin to be entered as the location instead of Fort Worth). The Eagles will take on the Braswell High School Bengals in a battle of first-year varsity programs.

Byron Nelson High School will also open its season at Northwest ISD Stadium, facing off against Sachse High School at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. The Bobcats are Northwest ISD’s lone 6A team this year and will not compete in the same athletic district as its other two high schools.

Northwest High School will travel to Alvarado for its first varsity football game, with the game slated to begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26. The Texans will play the Indians at the Alvarado High School Stadium, located at 1301 S. Parkway Drive in Alvarado.

For this week’s home games, parking is available near the following locations: across the street from the Northwest ISD Stadium, near the Transportation Department Building, near Hatfield Elementary School and near the Northwest High School baseball and softball fields. Reserved parking is available near the district’s central offices in front of the ticket gate to the stadium. A map of the area parking can be seen below.

The Northwest ISD Athletic Department recommends the following routes for Eaton Eagle and Byron Nelson Bobcat fans attending this week’s games.

From Eaton High School
Take U.S. Highway 287 north from Eaton High School to Rhome
Take U.S. Highway 114 east from Rhome to Texan Drive on the right
If Texan Drive is missed, take a right at the first traffic signal prior to the stadium, then another immediate right to get on Texan Drive and follow for all stadium parking
From Byron Nelson High School
Take U.S. Highway 170 west from Trophy Club and Roanoke to Interstate 35W North
Take I-35W North to Eagle Parkway
Take left on Eagle Parkway and travel west to F.M. 156 North
Take right on F.M. 156 North and travel slightly less than a mile to just before Northwest High School and take a left onto Texan Drive; this will lead to all stadium parking
