Galderma, a Nestlé skincare company based in Fort Worth, recently donated enough school supplies to ensure 1,250 Northwest ISD children in need are prepared for the upcoming school year.

The company donated 1,250 backpacks filled with supplies for the Back-to-School Fair on Saturday, Aug. 13, hosted by Northwest ISD and the United Way of Denton County. Initially, the company set a goal for employees to donate 150 backpacks, though they quickly surpassed that goal and all ensuing goals in an effort to help children in need.

Galderma’s participation was also part of Nestlé’s 150-year anniversary celebration, where Nestlé and its subsidiary companies are undertaking 150 volunteer opportunities across the country.

Miles Harrison, North American president and general manager of Galderma, said the event exemplifies his employees’ eagerness to support local education.

“At Galderma, we are participating by partnering with our neighborhood schools, meeting the needs they have for school supplies and reinforcing a positive environment for learning,” he said.

Dr. Ryder Warren, Northwest ISD superintendent, thanked Galderma for its donation and said the company serves as an example of a great community partner.

“Having a company such as Galderma in our boundaries is such a blessing, because they understand what’s really important: ensuring all students are prepared for success,” he said. “We’re looking forward to partnering with Galderma and all the great companies and organizations around us. With strong community support, we can live up to our mission of providing all students with a premier education and getting them ready for their futures.”
